Nuggets look to get back on track vs. Wizards

Feb 8, 2008 - 1:44 PM Washington (24-24) at Denver (29-19) 10:30 pm EST

DENVER (Ticker) - The Denver Nuggets look to begin another win streak Thursday when they host the Washington Wizards.

The Nuggets had a three-game streak snapped during their last game on Wednesday, suffering a 118-115 overtime setback to the red-hot Utah Jazz.

Allen Iverson played 52 minutes against the Jazz, scoring 34 points and 10 assists for his 10th double-double of the season and third in his last four games. Iverson is averaging a team-high 26.9 points and 7.1 assists this campaign.

The Wizards had a season-low offensive output on Wednesday and tied their season-high five-game losing streak with a 85-77 loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

Washington, which opened the season with five consecutive losses before winning six straight, were once again without All-Star Caron Butler, who missed his fourth game in the last six with a left hip flexor strain.

Butler, who is averaging 21.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game this season, is uncertain about his status for the Wizards' four-game West Coast road trip, which begins on Friday.
