Struggling teams square off when Nets visit Bobcats

Feb 8, 2008 - 1:56 PM New Jersey (20-29) at Charlotte (18-31) 7:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) - A pair of teams desperate for a win clash Friday when the New Jersey Nets visit the Charlotte Bobcats.

The Nets are on a three-game losing streak and are just 2-12 since January 11. New Jersey's latest setback was a 100-84 loss at Orlando on Wednesday.

The center of trade rumors for the past couple weeks, Jason Kidd has not played to his normal high level recently, averaging 10.1 points, 6.0 rebounds and 8.6 assists over his last 10 games. The numbers are all down from his season averages and Kidd had 13, six and seven against Orlando.

The Bobcats have lost four straight games and seven of nine overall, including a 118-104 decision at Phoenix on Monday - ending a five-game road trip.

Emeka Okafor played well on the West Coast swing, averaging 17.0 points and 14.6 rebounds during the five games. The four-year pro has also posted four straight double-doubles.

The teams have split the first two meetings this season.
