Mavericks G Curry out with tibia injury

Oct 7, 2017 - 6:18 PM Dallas Mavericks guard Seth Curry is out indefinitely after being diagnosed with a stress reaction of his left tibia, the team announced Saturday.

It was unclear when the injury occurred but he played in the preseason game at Orlando on Thursday night when he shot 4 of 14 from the field.

The 27-year-old Curry, the younger brother of Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, was projected to start in Dallas' backcourt this season.

The Mavs said Curry will be re-evaluated on a weekly basis.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Curry signed a two-year, $6 million deal to join the Mavs last season. He averaged 12.8 points and shot 48.1 percent from the floor and 42.5 percent from 3-point range in 70 games (42 starts).

Curry had brief stints with the Memphis Grizzlies, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings before coming to the Mavericks.
