Anthony, Nuggets to visit James, Cavaliers

Feb 10, 2008 - 3:46 PM Denver (30-19) at Cleveland (28-21) 7:00 pm EST

CLEVELAND (Ticker) - LeBron James is leading the league in scoring, but Carmelo Anthony is coming off his best effort of the season.

The two rivals from the 2003 draft class will square off on Sunday when the Cleveland Cavaliers host the Denver Nuggets.

James was the No.1 overall draft pick in 2003, two spots in front of Anthony at No. 3. While both will be in New Orleans next weekend as starters at the All-Star Game, James leads the NBA in scoring at 30.1 points per game.

James scored 26 points on Friday as the Cavaliers handed the Atlanta Hawks a 100-95 loss. It was his lowest scoring output in his last seven starts, but he added 11 rebounds and seven assists.

Cleveland has won 10 of its past 13 games and 14 of 18 since the beginning of January to re-assert itself as a force in the Eastern Conference after a 14-17 start.

Anthony scored 49 points in Friday's 111-110 over Washington. The All-Star forward shot 19-of-25 from the floor and 8-of-8 from the free throw line in the victory.

Marcus Camby pulled down 17 rebounds for the second straight game against the Wizards, and fellow All-Star Allen Iverson dished out 11 assists.

Head-to-head, the Nuggets have dominated the Cavaliers in recent years, winning for in a four and seven of the last nine meetings. Denver picked up a 122-100 win against Cleveland on November 12 behind 37 points and eight assists from Iverson.
