Mavericks seek quick reversal of fortune

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The start of a two-game road trip was disastrous for the Dallas Mavericks, who only hope the conclusion will have a better result.

The Mavericks visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday, a day after the New Jersey Nets scored 21 consecutive points in a 101-82 rout of Dallas.

The loss ended the Mavericks' three-game winning streak and marked the second-largest margin of defeat this season for Dallas, which dropped to 12-13 on the road. All-Star forward Dirk Nowitzki was held to 21 points on 4-of-16 shooting Sunday.

The Sixers are 3-0 on their current five-game homestand, which concludes Wednesday against Memphis.

Philadelphia is coming off a 101-80 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.

The Mavericks defeated the Sixers, 99-84, in the teams' only previous meeting of the season in Dallas on November 13. The Mavericks lead the all-time series, 31-22.
