Nets looking to build momentum vs. Timberwolves

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) - The New Jersey Nets appear to be breaking out of their mid-season funk.

The Nets look to build on the momentum of perhaps their most impressive win of the season on Tuesday when they host the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves.

Vince Carter scored 25 of his 29 points in the second half to lead New Jersey to a 101-82 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday.

The win was the second straight victory for the Nets, who had won just two of their previous 14 games.

Despite suffering a 98-95 setback to the Timberwolves in their first meeting this season, the Nets have won six of the last seven contests at home against Minnesota.

The Timberwolves have lost three straight games, including a 105-82 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. Rashard McCants, who sprained his right ankle in the second quarter against the Raptors, hopes to return on Tuesday and is listed as day-to-day.
