Billups, Pistons aim for 10th straight win

Feb 13, 2008 - 11:23 AM Indiana (21-31) at Detroit (38-13) 7:30 pm EST

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) - All-Star Chauncey Billups looks to lead the Detroit Pistons to a 10th straight win when they host the banged-up Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, "Mr. Big Shot" lived up to his nickname as he scored 12 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Pistons to a 94-90 win over Atlanta.

Prior to the final period, Billups was 0-for-8 from the floor but continued to fire away. It paid off as the 11-year veteran reeled off 10 straight points to help the Pistons stay red-hot.

Billups, Richard Hamilton and Rasheed Wallace will head to New Orleans for All-Star weekend following this one. Wallace was chosen to replace Boston's Kevin Garnett, who has an abdominal strain.

Detroit, which is the only team with three All-Stars, is starting to resemble the team that won the NBA title in 2004.

The Pistons should have little problem with the Pacers, who have been without center Jermaine O'Neal (knee) for the last 12 games and will be without guard Jamaal Tinsley (knee) for a second straight game.

Indiana had its two-game winning streak snapped with a 104-97 home loss to Boston on Tuesday.

Wallace scored 24 points with 10 rebounds to lead the Pistons to a 110-104 win in the last meeting in Indiana on January 29.
