Struggling Grizzlies, Sonics begin long march to end of season

Feb 19, 2008 - 3:17 PM Memphis (14-38) at Seattle (13-38) 10:00 pm EST

SEATTLE (Ticker) - A pair of teams playing out the string and looking to the lottery meet Tuesday when the Memphis Grizzlies visit the Seattle SuperSonics.

Memphis has lost nine straight away from home and continues to reside in the basement of the Southwest Division.

The Grizzlies (14-38), are 4-20 on the road this season, better than only Miami (4-21) and Minnesota (2-23).

Seattle (13-38) has no chance of playing in the postseason either but at least they have young superstar Kevin Durant and fellow rookie Jeff Green.

The Sonics have lost two straight and are coming off a 112-93 loss to Northwest Division-leading Utah on Wednesday.

Durant scored 19 points against the Jazz and matched his worst shooting performance of the season on February 8, when he scored nine points on 2-of-12 from the field.
