Pistons seeking 11th straight victory

Feb 19, 2008 - 3:20 PM Orlando (33-21) at Detroit (39-13) 7:30 pm EST

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) - The Detroit Pistons hope the All-Star break didn't stall their momentum.

The Pistons go for their 11th consecutive victory when they host the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night.

Owning the second-best record in the league behind the Boston Celtics, Detroit routed the Indiana Pacers, 96-80, last Wednesday.

Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton scored 14 points apiece to lead Detroit, which has led by at least 25 point in each of its last three home wins.

Orlando salvaged a 2-3 homestand with a 109-98 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday behind Dwight Howard's 23-point, 24-rebound performance.

The monster effort by Howard came two days after coach Stan Van Gundy singled him out for a lack of defensive intensity.

Howard carried the momentum over to the All-Star break, where he donned a Superman cape and won the league's Slam Dunk competition.

The Magic are among the league's hardest teams to figure. While they are an ordinary 14-11 at home, Orlando leads the NBA with 19 road victories.
