Bibby faces former team when Hawks take on Kings

Feb 20, 2008 - 1:42 PM Atlanta (21-29) at Sacramento (24-28) 10:00 pm EST

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) --Mike Bibby hasn't had much time to adapt to his new surroundings, but will find himself in a familiar setting on Wednesday.

The Atlanta Hawks' newest addition looks to create an impact for his new team when he faces his former squad, the Sacramento Kings.

Bibby, who spent seven seasons with the Kings, was acquired by the Hawks on Saturday for point guards Tyronn Lue and Anthony Johnson, forward Shelden Williams, center Lorenzen Wright and a second-round draft pick.

The 29-year-old point guard is averaging 13.5 points and five assists per game after missing the first 36 games this season while recovering from left thumb surgery.

Bibby scored just five points and three assists during his debut on Tuesday as the Hawks suffered their fifth straight loss, 122-93, against the Los Angeles Lakers.

In their first game without Bibby, the Kings snapped a three-game losing streak with a 105-94 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday. Ron Artest led the way with 24 points while Bibby's replacement, Kevin Martin, added 21 points and seven rebounds.
