Nets move forward without Kidd

Feb 22, 2008 - 1:15 PM New Jersey (24-30) at Indiana (21-33) 7:00 pm EST

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) - The New Jersey Nets will go into Friday's game with the Indiana Pacers undefeated in the post-Jason Kidd era.

The Nets defeated the Chicago Bulls, 110-102, in overtime on Wednesday, a day after Kidd was sent to Dallas in an eight-player deal.

"Our team right now is good enough to win games," New Jersey forward Richard Jefferson said. "We have enough talent out on that floor."

The Nets have won four of their last five games and sit in seventh place in the Eastern Conference. Point guard Devin Harris, acquired in the Dallas deal, is sidelined with a sprained ankle and could be out two more weeks.

Second-year guard Marcus Williams will play the point until Harris is able to play. Williams, who averages 4.1 points, had a season-high 25 points in Wednesday's game.

Trenton Hassell, DeSagana Diop and Maurice Ager came over from Dallas as well and combined for seven points and five rebounds on Wednesday.

Meeting the Pacers for the first time this season, the Nets have won the last five games in the series.

Indiana has lost three straight and Jermaine O'Neal and Jamaal Tinsley remain day-to-day with knee injuries. O'Neal has missed 14 consecutive games, while Tinsley has missed five straight.
