Red-hot Williams, Jazz ready for Clippers

Feb 22, 2008 - 2:06 PM Utah (35-19) at LA Clippers (18-33) 10:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - Deron Williams has led the Utah Jazz to an unbelievable stretch of wins.

Williams and the Jazz go for their fourth straight victory on Friday when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers.

The 23-year-old Williams, who leads the team in assists and is the second-leading scorer, has recorded 17 double-doubles since the beginning of January, pacing Utah to an 18-3 record during that span.

The second-year Illinois product had 29 points and 12 assists on Tuesday as the Jazz picked up their third straight win with a 119-109 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

The Clippers enter Friday's contest seeking back-to-back wins - for the first time since opening the season 4-0 - following a 100-86 victory over the dismal Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Corey Maggette poured in 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against the Grizzlies and has recorded at least 20 points in each of the last six contests while scoring 30 or more three times during that span.
