Red-hot Pistons face Nuggets as West swing continues

Feb 25, 2008 - 4:04 PM Detroit (41-15) at Denver (33-22) 9:00 pm EST

DENVER (Ticker) -- A day removed from arguably their most impressive effort of the season, Rasheed Wallace and the Detroit Pistons continue their four-game road trip Monday against the Denver Nuggets.

Detroit opened the road trip in dominant fashion Sunday afternoon, posting a 116-86 rout of the Phoenix Suns.

Wallace scored 22 points in just 26 minutes for the Pistons, who handed the Suns their worst loss since March of last season.

"They get juiced up a little bit," Pistons' coach Flip Saunders said of his team's efforts against the other top teams. "I thought we were extremely focused both offensively and defensively."

Detroit has won eight its last 10 games and is 19-10 on the road. The Pistons head to Utah on Wednesday before closing out the trip on Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Nuggets have lost three of their last four games, including Saturday's 115-109 loss at Milwaukee after blowing a 23-point lead.

Allen Iverson scored 26 points Saturday to pace Denver, which is tied with the Golden State Warriors (33-22) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
