Suns look to rebound against lowly Grizzlies

Feb 26, 2008 - 2:57 PM Phoenix (38-18) at Memphis (14-42) 8:00 pm EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) - Shaquille O'Neal and the Phoenix Suns hope to bounce back from its worst loss of the season when they visit the lowly Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday.

Phoenix had its 11-game winning streak against Eastern Conference opponents snapped in emphatic fashion, losing to Detroit, 116-86, on Sunday. It was the most lopsided defeat of the season for the Suns, who fell to 1-2 in games O'Neal has played in.

"It's embarrassing, it's disappointing, it's everything," said Suns guard Steve Nash, who had just 11 points and six assists. "It's tough, no matter whom you play, to lose by 30 points."

O'Neal is averaging 8.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game since his return from a hip injury but Amare Stoudemire continues to excel alongside the veteran center. Stoudemire had 31 points in the loss and is averaging 30.7 over his last six games.

Getting back into the win column against the Grizzlies could be an easy task as Memphis has lost five straight and 11 of its last 12.

Memphis was trounced in Cleveland on Sunday, suffering a 109-89 setback for its third straight double-digit defeat. Hakim Warrick scored 21 points and Rudy Gay added 19 in the loss.

This is the first of three games between the two teams this season, while Phoenix has won the last five meetings.
