No Kidd, no problem when Nets take on Magic

Feb 26, 2008 - 3:09 PM Orlando (36-22) at New Jersey (25-31) 7:30 pm EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) - No Jason Kidd has been no problem for the New Jersey Nets.

The Nets try to complete a five-game home winning streak for the first time this season on Tuesday when they host the Orlando Magic.

New Jersey, which is currently in seventh place in the Eastern Conference, has won two of its last three games without Kidd, who was traded to the Dallas Mavericks last Tuesday for guards Devin Harris and Maurice Ager, center DeSagana Diop, forwards Keith Van Horn and Trenton Hassell, first-round draft picks in 2008 and 2010 and cash considerations.

Richard Jefferson matched a season-high with 36 points and Marcus Williams - Kidd's replacement at point guard - had a career-high 13 assists, eight points and seven rebounds to lead the Nets to a 102-91 triumph over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday.

The Magic picked up their fourth win in their last five games on Sunday with a 112-93 victory over the Sacramento Kings.

All-Star Dwight Howard had 26 points on 10-of-13 shooting and 10 rebounds, registering his NBA-leading 49th double-double of the season.

Howard has been dominant against the Nets this season, averaging 18 points and 15 rebounds while leading the Magic to a 2-1 record against New Jersey.
