Raptors look to stay hot against Timberwolves

Feb 27, 2008 - 1:51 PM Minnesota (12-43) at Toronto (31-24) 7:00 pm EST

TORONTO (Ticker) - Barring a total collapse by the Boston Celtics, there will be no repeating for the Toronto Raptors as Atlantic Division champions.

The Raptors, who have won two straight, are 12 games behind the Celtics heading into Wednesday's game with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Toronto is in a battle with Cleveland for the No. 4 spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

The Raptors have won four of their last five games, including Monday's 102-98 victory at Indiana.

Toronto is 17-11 at home, winning its last three games.

The Timberwolves are coming off a rare victory, posting a 111-100 win over the Utah Jazz on Tuesday as Al Jefferson, Rashad McCants and Randy Foye combined for 64 points. It was the finale of a five-game homestand.

Minnesota, which has the worst record in the Western Conference, is 2-23 on the road.

Toronto won the previous meeting between the teams on February 10, 105-82, as five players scored in double figures.
