Celtics conclude season series with new-look Cavaliers
Feb 27, 2008 - 1:53 PM Cleveland (32-25) at Boston (43-12) 7:30 pm ESTBOSTON (Ticker) - The Boston Celtics will face a vastly different Cleveland Cavaliers team on Wednesday when the Eastern Conference squads meet for the fourth and final time in the regular season.
The Cavaliers lead the series, 2-1, in which the home team has won every game. This will be the first time the Celtics will see Ben Wallace, Wally Szczerbiak, Joe Smith and former Boston guard Delonte West playing alongside LeBron James.
Cleveland acquired Wallace, Smith and a second-round pick from Chicago and Szczerbiak and West from Seattle. The Cavaliers traded Larry Hughes, Drew Gooden, Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown to Chicago and Ira Newble and Donyell Marshall to Seattle.
Cleveland won its first two games following the trade, but is coming off a 105-102 loss at Milwaukee on Tuesday. The Bucks' Michael Redd connected from 27 feet with under one second remaining to give Milwaukee the win, despite 35 points from James.
The game will kick off a five-game homestand for the Celtics, who won the last two games of a five-game road trip against Western Conference teams. Boston won't play on the road until March 8 at Memphis.
