Surging Redd, Bucks ready to take on Nets
Feb 28, 2008 - 1:23 PM Milwaukee (22-35) at New Jersey (25-32) 7:30 pm ESTEAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) - After one of their worst stretches this season, Michael Redd and the Milwaukee Bucks continued their winning ways with some last-second heroics.
The Bucks go for their third straight win on Thursday when they visit the New Jersey Nets.
Milwaukee's 105-102 triumph over Cleveland on Tuesday, their third win in four games against the Cavaliers, wasn't decided until the very end.
After LeBron James tied the game on a layup with just under five seconds remaining, Redd - who finished with 25 points - took the inbound pass, drove effortlessly up the court and drilled a 27-foot 3-pointer as the buzzer sounded.
"I knew how much time we had left," Redd said. "We had to make the attack. I know I needed to get it off quick. Mo (Williams) is known for hitting game-winners. (Tuesday), it was my turn."
Redd, the team's leading scorer at 23.3 points per game this season, has scored at least 25 points in four of the last five games - including a season-high 42 points against the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.
The Nets are struggling to find consistency after the departure of Jason Kidd, who was traded to the Dallas Mavericks last week.
New Jersey has alternated losses and wins over its last five games following a three-game win streak and are coming off a 102-92 loss to the Orlando Magic on Tuesday.
