Mired in latest losing streak, Grizzlies host Jazz

Mar 1, 2008 - 2:12 PM Utah (37-22) at Memphis (14-44) 8:00 pm EST

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) - The Memphis Grizzlies should regret trading superstar Pau Gasol.

The Grizzlies look to break out of their latest slump when they host the Utah Jazz on Saturday.

Memphis, which traded Gasol to the Los Angeles Lakers for a package of players on February 1, suffered its seventh consecutive loss on Friday, enduring a 116-95 setback to the Houston Rockets.

The Grizzlies finished the month with a dismal 1-11 record with their lone win - a 107-94 victory over the Sacramento Kings - coming on February 12.

The Jazz haven't played their best basketball of late either with three losses in their last five games.

After trailing by 25 points in the first quarter, Utah fought back to within four points with just over six minutes left to play, but couldn't complete the comeback in a 110-98 loss to the New Orleans Hornets on Friday.

Deron Williams had 22 points and 10 assists while Carols Boozer added 23 and 13 rebounds to lead the Jazz, who still own a 1 1/2-game lead atop the Northwest Division.
