Duncan, Spurs aim for eighth consecutive win
Mar 1, 2008 - 2:13 PM San Antonio (39-17) at Milwaukee (22-36) 8:30 pm ESTMILWAUKEE (Ticker) - The San Antonio Spurs go in search of their eighth consecutive win on Saturday when they visit the Milwaukee Bucks.
All-Star Tim Duncan collected 31 points and 15 rebounds to lift the Spurs to a hard-fought 97-94 victory against the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday.
"We know that if you lose two, three in a row, you can drop from second to seventh with things being so tight (in the West)," San Antonio swingman Manu Ginobili said. "So, it's very important to play every game with a lot of energy."
In the first matchup against the Bucks, Ginobili poured in 21 points off the bench in San Antonio's convincing 113-88 victory on November 11 at the AT&T Center.
Milwaukee had its two-game winning streak end with Thursday's 120-106 setback against the New Jersey Nets despite 33 points by Michael Redd.
The 6-6 Redd has found his stroke of late, averaging 33.3 points over his last three outings.
