New Net Harris faces Spurs yet again on Sunday

Mar 2, 2008 - 2:25 PM San Antonio (38-17) at New Jersey (26-32) 6:00 pm EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) - Even though his team resides in a different conference than the San Antonio Spurs, at least one New Jersey Net player will be seeing a familiar foe on Sunday.

Devin Harris tries to improve on his impressive debut when the Nets host the Spurs at the Izod Center.

Perhaps it is more than just coincidence that Harris' second and third games with his new team come against one of Dallas' biggest rivals, the Spurs, as the teams embark on a home-and-home set starting on Sunday and ending back in San Antonio on Tuesday.

Harris, who was the centerpiece of a five-player package acquired from Dallas on February 19 in the Jason Kidd trade, has already faced the Spurs three times this season as a member of the Mavericks. He'll look to better his 21-point effort in Thursday's 120-106 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

For Harris, it was his first game with the Nets after he spent more than a week recovering from an ankle injury suffered while he was still a member of the Mavericks.

The Nets hope that Harris' presence can help them change their losing ways against San Antonio, which has won the last nine meetings between the teams.

San Antonio collected its season-best eighth straight win on Saturday in a 96-94 victory over the Bucks.

Manu Ginobili scored 30 points, including the go-ahead basket with 13 seconds left - and Tony Parker added 26 as San Antonio improved to 18-4 against the Eastern Conference this season.
