Sonics try to avoid dubious back-to-back losses
Mar 2, 2008 - 2:31 PM Seattle (15-43) at Minnesota (12-45) 6:30 pm ESTMINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - The Seattle SuperSonics hope to avoid their fifth straight loss Sunday when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves.
On Friday, the Sonics endured a 103-93 home loss to the league-worst Miami Heat (11-52). Now they will attempt to avoid a setback against the league's second-worst team.
Despite holding the worst record in the Western Conference, the Timberwolves have played better of late. After dropping to an embarrassing 5-34 with a loss to the Nuggets on January 19, Minnesota has been a much more respectable 7-11 since.
However, the Timberwolves could not avoid their second straight loss - a 92-84 setback to the Cleveland Cavaliers - on Friday.
