High-scoring Warriors look to get offense going against Blazers

Mar 2, 2008 - 2:43 PM Portland (31-28) at Golden State (35-22) 9:00 pm EST

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) - The Golden State Warriors have had little trouble scoring points this season. But that has not been the case against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Golden State looks to avoid a third straight loss against Portland when the teams meet on Sunday.

The Warriors lead the league in scoring at 110.1 points per game, but have failed to top the 100-point plateau in a pair of defeats this season. Portland won, 105-95, on December 12 and by a 109-91 score on January 9.

Golden State has scored at least 100 points in all 21 games since the last loss to the Blazers, going 15-6 in those contests.

Mickael Pietrus scored a season-high 23 points and Monta Ellis and Stephen Jackson each had 21 for the Warriors, who coasted to a 119-97 rout of the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday.

Since losing eight of nine, the Blazers have won two straight contests, including a 119-111 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.

Brandon Roy returned after missing two games with a sprained right ankle and had 20 points and 12 assists. LaMarcus Aldridge scored 22 points to lead the Blazers.

The Warriors have won the last four meetings between the teams at Golden State.
