Magic lose C Vucevic to broken hand

Dec 24, 2017 - 8:29 AM Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic left Saturday night's game against the Washington Wizards with a broken bone in his left index finger and will be sidelined six to eight weeks.

X-rays showed a fractured first metacarpal on Vucevic's left hand. The team said he will undergo surgery at a yet to be determined date.

The injury occurred with approximately seven minutes remaining in the first quarter when Vucevic got tangled up with Wizards center Ian Mahinmi.

"I tried to get out," Vucevic said afterward. "As I went away I think he might (have) pulled my finger. I'm not sure. I heard it pop when it happened."

Vucevic is the team's third-leading scorer at 17.8 points per game and its leading rebounder at 9.6.
