Slumping Hornets visit Knicks

Mar 3, 2008 - 4:04 PM New Orleans (39-19) at New York (18-41) 7:30 pm EST

NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Playing the New York Knicks has been the cure for the ills of many NBA teams this season. The New Orleans Hornets are hoping that will be the case on Monday.

The Hornets come in on the heels of a 101-84 loss at Washington on Sunday, their fourth loss in their last six games.

The Wizards scored 19 consecutive points in the fourth quarter to break open what had been a one-point game. The loss snapped a two-game winning streak for New Orleans.

The Hornets are two games behind defending NBA champion San Antonio in the Southwest Division and are third in the Western Conference. New Orleans is 19-9 on the road and 11-6 against Eastern Conference teams.

The Knicks are 23 games under .500 but have actually been competitive in winning four of their last nine games.
