Raptors try to beat Magic without Bosh

Mar 4, 2008 - 11:17 AM Toronto (32-26) at Orlando (38-23) 7:00 pm EST

ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- The Toronto Raptors could be without the biggest piece of the puzzle for at least another week.

The Raptors will be playing without All-Star forward Chris Bosh when they visit the Orlando Magic on Tuesday.

Bosh suffered a left knee injury in the first quarter of Friday's 122-111 loss to the Indiana Pacers, forcing him to miss Sunday's 110-98 loss at the Charlotte Bobcats. The 6-10 forward leads the team with averages of 22.6 points and 8.9 rebounds.

His presence has been missed mainly on the defensive end, as Toronto lost Sunday despite shooting 51 percent (38-of-74) from the floor.

Anthony Parker led the way with 24 points and Jose Calderon dished out 10 assists, but without Bosh guarding the paint, Emeka Okafor scored 14 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and Jason Richardson slashed to the basket at will for the Bobcats.

The Magic are on a roll, winning four of their last five games. They own a comfortable eight-game lead over the Washington Wizards (29-30) in the Southeast Division and sit third in the Eastern Conference behind Boston (46-12) and Detroit (43-16).

Orlando beat up on the New York Knicks on Saturday, 118-92. Dwight Howard scored 26 points and added 22 rebounds and Hedo Turkoglu chipped in 25 points and 10 assists.

The teams have split two games this season, with Toronto winning the latest meeting, 127-110, on February 20. Bosh scored 40 points in that victory.
