Pistons aim to continue home dominance over Sonics

Mar 4, 2008 - 3:03 PM Seattle (16-43) at Detroit (43-16) 7:30 pm EST

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) - The Detroit Pistons hope to keep the Seattle SuperSonics singing the Motown blues when they meet on Tuesday.

Detroit hasn't had much trouble at home when facing Seattle, which has captured just two victories here since the 1995-96 season.

Having swept the four five meetings overall from Seattle, the Pistons' last home defeat in the series came on December 12, 2003.

In the first matchup between both clubs, All-Star guard Richard Hamilton torched Seattle for 32 points during a 107-103 triumph at Key Arena on November 11.

Tayshaun Prince scored 22 points in Detroit's 103-73 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers in the finale of a four-game West Coast swing on Saturday.

Flip Saunders was named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month after guiding the Pistons to a 9-3 record in February, which included wins Dallas, Phoenix and Denver.

The SuperSonics started their seven-game tour of the East Coast on a positive note with Sunday's 111-108 overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Seattle owns the third-worst road record in the West at 6-22, while Detroit enters with the second-best home mark in the East at 22-5.
