Spurs eye 10th straight victory

Mar 4, 2008 - 3:08 PM New Jersey (26-33) at San Antonio (41-17) 8:30 pm EST

SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) - The San Antonio Spurs look like they are once again making another March run.

The Spurs target their 10th straight win on Tuesday when they host the New Jersey Nets as the teams complete a home-and-home set.

Since Tim Duncan arrived in San Antonio before the 1997-98 season, the Spurs have fared no worse than 10-5 in March. Their winning streak is the longest since the Spurs reeled off 13 consecutive victories from February 13-March 13, 2007, which incidentally included two wins over the Nets.

Tony Parker had 25 points, eight rebounds and seven assists on Sunday when San Antonio beat New Jersey for the 10th consecutive time, 93-83. Tim Duncan added 13 points and 14 rebounds while Manu Ginobili had 17 points off the bench.

The win allowed the Spurs to maintain a virtual tie for first place with the Los Angeles Lakers (42-18) in the Western Conference standings. Los Angeles is in action against Sacramento on Tuesday.

Devin Harris, in just his second game with New Jersey after the Jason Kidd trade, recorded his second straight 21-point game in the loss after hitting that total in his Net debut in a 120-106 win on Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
