Struggling Mavericks still looking for first win
Nov 8, 2006 - 4:04 PM Dallas (0-3) at LA Clippers (3-1) 10:30 pm ESTLOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Maybe the Dallas Mavericks are still hungover from their NBA Finals loss.
The Mavericks, who have opened the season with three straight losses, look for their first victory of the season when they take on the Los Angles Clippers on Wednesday.
Dallas' third straight loss was a 107-104 defeat by the Golden State Warriors in its home opener on Tuesday. Dirk Nowitzki led the Mavericks with 26 points and 11 rebounds while Devin Harris added 17 points and Jason Terry added 15.
Dallas is 0-3 for the first time since 1993-94.
The Clippers look for their fourth straight win after a 102-89 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday.
Corey Maggette led a balanced Clippers attack with 20 points while Cuttino Mobley added 17, Sam Cassell had 16 and Chris Kaman chipped in with 15.
Maggette also led the Clippers with 23 points and 12 rebounds in a 114-108 defeat of the Phoenix Suns on Saturday.
