Bucks face Sonics looking to end three-game skid

Mar 5, 2008 - 2:21 PM Seattle (16-44) at Milwaukee (22-38) 8:00 pm EST

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) - Playoff hopes for the Seattle SuperSonics ended months ago. A current three-game losing streak has done nothing to help the Milwaukee Bucks' chances.

The teams meet for the second and final time this season on Wednesday. In the previous meeting in Seattle on December 7, Kevin Durant matched his career-high with 35 points as the Sonics held off the Bucks, 104-98, despite 41 points from Milwaukee's Michael Redd.

The Bucks have fallen four games behind eighth-place New Jersey in the race for an Eastern Conference playoff spot.

Milwaukee is coming off a 128-106 loss to Indiana on Sunday that dropped the Bucks' road record to 6-26. Milwaukee forward Yi Jianlian left with a sprained left ankle with 10:44 to play and did not return.

"We're not going to beat anybody, there's not a chance, if we give up 64 points in each half," Milwaukee coach Larry Krystkowiak said. "Sometimes, our offense is good enough to keep us in games, but without a more concerted effort on our part to guard people, it's going to be real tough to get a win."

Seattle has lost five of six games, including Tuesday's 100-97 loss at Detroit. The defeat dropped the Sonics to 1-1 on the current seven-game road trip, which concludes March 12 in Boston.

The Sonics are 6-23 on the road and 8-15 against Eastern Conference teams.
