Bobcats host Hawks, look to match franchise win streak

Mar 7, 2008 - 3:18 PM Atlanta (24-35) at Charlotte (22-39) 7:00 pm EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The resurgent Charlotte Bobcats could match a franchise record for consecutive wins Friday against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Bobcats go for their fourth straight win against the struggling Hawks. Charlotte is four games out of eighth place in the race for an Eastern Conference playoff spot.

Charlotte is coming off a 118-109 home win over Golden State on Wednesday as Jason Richardson, a former Warrior, scored a season-high 42 points.

"There's something good going on," Bobcats guard Matt Carroll said. "We've been playing well lately. Our chemistry is really good and we're playing well together."

The slumping Hawks have lost 11 of 14 games to fall out of the top eight places in the East. Atlanta is 3-7 since acquiring point guard Mike Bibby from Sacramento during the All-Star break.

The Hawks have lost three straight, including a 116-101 loss at New Orleans on Wednesday.

The Bobcats, 10-5 all-time against Atlanta, will be without the services of Gerald Wallace for the seventh consecutive game. Averaging a team-high 20.6 points, Wallace is recovering from his fourth concussion in as many years and could return in a week.
