Bobcats eye franchise-record winning streak

Mar 8, 2008 - 1:36 PM Charlotte (23-39) at Washington (30-31) 7:00 pm EST

WASHINGTON (Ticker) - If the Charlotte Bobcats want to set a franchise record, they will have to solve the Washington Wizards.

The Bobcats look to complete the first five-game win streak in franchise history on Saturday when they visit the Wizards.

Charlotte tied a franchise record on Friday by claiming its fourth straight win during a decisive 108-93 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Raymond Felton scored 23 points and added 11 assists and Emeka Okafor contributed 16 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Bobcats.

Felton, who is averaging 19 points and nearly nine assists per game during the win streak, needs to continue his recent hot play against the Wizards, who have won all three matchups against the Bobcats this season and own a 12-3 record in the all-time series.

The Wizards bounced back from a 30-point drubbing against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday with a 110-106 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Friday. Antawn Jamison scored 25 points and grabbed 16 rebounds, registering his 33rd double-double of the season.

Washington is currently in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings after winning five of its last seven games.
