Jazz go for 18th consecutive home win

Mar 8, 2008 - 2:17 PM Denver (37-24) at Utah (41-22) 9:00 pm EST

SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) - After getting a big win on the road, the Utah Jazz return home looking to continue their domination at the EnergySolutions Arena when they host the Denver Nuggets on Saturday.

Utah boasts the league's best home record at 27-3 and have won 17 consecutive games on its home floor.

The Jazz, who are just 14-19 on the road, are coming off a 126-118 victory at Phoenix on Friday. The win maintained the team's three-game edge over second-place Denver in the Northwest Division.

Deron Williams had 25 points and 15 assists and Mehmet Okur had 25 and 14 rebounds as the Jazz outscored the Suns, 41-24, in the fourth quarter. It was the sixth straight double-double for Williams, who is averaging 18.7 points and 14.8 assists over that span.

The Nuggets are coming off an important 109-96 victory over San Antonio on Friday, but still trail Golden State (38-23) by one game for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Allen Iverson scored 29 points and Carmelo Anthony had 25 in the win, which ended the Spurs' 11-game winning streak.

The teams have split two meetings this season - both in Denver - with the Jazz winning the most recent contest, 118-115, in overtime on February 6.
