Timberwolves aim for consecutive road wins

Mar 8, 2008 - 2:20 PM Minnesota (13-48) at LA Clippers (20-40) 10:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - The Minnesota Timberwolves will try to pick up another rare road win on Saturday when they visit Los Angeles Clippers.

Al Jefferson collected 21 points and 13 rebounds to help the Timberwolves snap a five-game losing streak with a 111-103 victory over the slumping Sacramento Kings on Friday.

"It's been a tough year on the road and at home," Minnesota guard Randy Foye said. "(Saturday) we'll try to get another one in Southern California against (the Clippers)."

It was Minnesota's first win away from the Target Center since defeating the Golden State Warriors by one on January 21 - a span six road games.

The Timberwolves, who have the worst road record in the league at 3-26, are also hoping to claim back-to-back road wins for the first time since beating Orlando and New York on April 1 and 6.

Los Angeles enters after getting torched by the Los Angeles Lakers, who cruised to a 119-82 victory on Friday. The Clippers are just 1-6 at the Staples Center since winning consecutive home games from February 20-22.

In the last matchup between the clubs here, Cuttino Mobley and Chris Kaman led the charge to help the Clippers post a 91-82 win on December 31.
