Playoff-bound Pistons host resurgent Sixers
Mar 12, 2008 - 10:30 AM Philadephia (30-34) at Detroit (46-17) 7:30 pm EDTAUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- A five-game homestand for the playoff-bound Detroit Pistons continues on Wednesday against the Philadephia 76ers.
The Pistons have won seven of their last nine games, including Sunday's 116-109 victory over Chicago that opened the home swing and pushed Detroit into the postseason for the seventh consecutive season.
"It's good to be home, especially for a stretch," said guard Chauncey Billups, who matched his season high with 34 points on Sunday. "We can start getting some games under our belt at home and have some good teams coming in where we know we've got to be on guard. We can't have letdowns. I look forward to this stretch."
Following Wednesday's game, the Pistons host San Antonio, New Orleans and Denver. Detroit has won three straight at home and is 24-5 for the season there.
The Pistons have won six of their last seven home games against Philadelphia and 13 of the last 15 meetings overall.
The Sixers are 7-3 in their last 10 games to move into seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings.
Philadelphia's four-game winning streak ended on Monday with a 100-86 loss to Boston. The Sixers shot a season-worst 32 percent from the field in the loss, and also lost starting shooting guard Willie Green to a lower back injury in the first quarter.
