Timberwolves seek revenge against Roy, Blazers

Mar 15, 2008 - 2:16 PM Minnesota (15-49) at Portland (34-32) 10:00 pm EDT

PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) - The Minnesota Timberwolves hope for some revenge when they visit Brandon Roy and the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday.

Just five days ago, Roy torched the Timberwolves for 27 points and nine assists to lift the Trail Blazers to a 103-96 victory at the Target Center.

However, Minnesota was able to bounce back as Ryan Gomes had 23 points and 15 rebounds during Friday's 121-116 triumph over the Seattle SuperSonics.

"Coach spoke to us at halftime and said we had no problems on offense, our problem was on defense," Timberwolves guard Randy Foye said. "We picked it up."

Despite having the second-worst road record in the league at 5-26, the Timberwolves are enjoying their first three-game winning streak away from home.

Portland finished its five-game road swing on a sour note with Thursday's 96-85 setback to the Sacramento Kings to waste 41 combined points from Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge.

"Right from the start we had no sharpness to ourselves at all," Portland coach Nate McMillan said. "We didn't defend and I think we started the game off with four turnovers. I'm lost with this one. I don't get this game"
