Hawks hope to end road struggles

Mar 16, 2008 - 1:24 PM Atlanta (27-38) at New York (19-46) 6:00 pm EDT

NEW YORK (Ticker) - The Atlanta Hawks hope to end a six-game road losing streak when they face the lowly New York Knicks on Sunday.

Atlanta has been dismal away from home, losing 19 of its last 21 games. The Hawks are just 7-25 away from Philips Arena.

It also has been a struggle for the Hawks when they visit Madison Square Garden where it has won just once in its last 14 tries.

Things could be different this time against the Knicks, who have lost seven of their last eight games and are one of five teams in the league with fewer than 20 wins.

The Hawks are coming off their most lopsided win of the season, a 117-93 rout of the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday. Joe Johnson led the way with 28 points for the Hawks, who are one-half game behind the New Jersey Nets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
