Pacers look to ride red-hot Dunleavy vs. Bobcats

INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) - Mike Dunleavy and the struggling Indiana Pacers look for a second straight win when they host the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday.

The Pacers are one of a slew of teams vying for eighth and final playoff spot in the East, but have lost 11 of their last 16 games.

Indiana, which is three games behind eighth-place Atlanta (29-38), is trying to win consecutive games for only the third time since December 21.

Dunleavy led the way with a career-high 36 points in a 110-98 win over New York on Monday. It was the fourth time in his career Dunleavy has scored 36 points and his fifth 30-point game in the last 13 contests.

Dunleavy's huge game helped the Pacers bounce back from Saturday's 122-111 loss to Orlando.

"I can't really say there's a reason behind my success against them (the Knicks), but I'm motivated and pushed by the desire to make the postseason."

Charlotte, which has lost four straight, is looking to bounce back from dismal performance against Memphis on Monday. Derek Anderson scored a season-high 17 points, but the Bobcats' starter managed just 36 points in a 98-80 loss.

Gerald Wallace and Jason Richardson went a combined 7-for-26 from the floor in the loss, which was damaging to Charlotte's postseason hopes. The Bobcats are five games back of Atlanta.

This is the finale of a six-game road trip for Charlotte. The Bobcats are 0-5 on the trip and just 6-26 away from home.
