Cavaliers gunning for revenge vs. Pistons
Mar 19, 2008 - 1:30 PM Detroit (49-18) at Cleveland (38-30) 8:00 pm EDTCLEVELAND (Ticker) - The Cleveland Cavaliers will be a team looking for payback when they host the Detroit Piston on Wednesday.
Cleveland shocked the heavily-favored Pistons in six games during last season's Eastern Conference Finals. However, Detroit got a degree of retribution when the teams first met this season, posting an impressive 109-74 victory on November 28.
The Cavaliers suffered their third loss in four games on Monday - a 104-90 setback against the Orlando Magic. LeBron James scored 30 points and added nine rebounds and six assists in defeat.
James is looking for an improved effort against the Pistons after scoring just 15 points in the first game, which he left in the second quarter due to a sprained left index finger.
Detroit won its third straight game on Tuesday, scoring a season-high in points en route to a 136-120 victory over the Denver Nuggets.
While Richard Hamilton scored 12 of his 24 points in the first quarter, it was the bench that led the Pistons to the win - reserves Jason Maxiell, Jarvis Hayes and Rodney Stuckey combined for 46 points.
