Warriors seek rare road win vs. Clippers

Mar 19, 2008 - 1:55 PM Golden State (41-25) at LA Clippers (21-45) 10:30 pm EDT

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - The Golden State Warriors need to beat team like the Los Angeles Clippers if they are going to reach the postseason.

The Warriors attmept to end an eight-game road losing streak to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.

Golden State, which leads Denver (40-27) by 1 1/2 games for the eighth and final playoff spot, is coming off a disappointing 122-105 loss to the Sacramento Kings (31-36) on Tuesday.

Ironically it was the Warriors offense that failed them as they shot just 40 percent (38-of-93) and were outscored, 40-25, in the third quarter.

Monta Ellis was held to nine points and Stephen Jackson had just nine.

"It was a pretty disappointing game (Tuesday)," Warriors coach Don Nelson said. "We kept getting deeper and deeper into the hole. We did not have enough guys play well tonight."

The Warriors will try and rebound against the Clippers, who they have not beaten here since a 96-85 win on March 21, 2004.

Los Angeles is coming off a 99-90 loss to the lowly Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday - its fourth straight setback. The Clippers played a fifth straight game without leading rebounded Chris Kaman, who is out with a back injury.

Al Harrington led Warriors with 27 points in a 122-105 home win over Los Angeles in the last meeting on November 16.
