Clippers look to end homestand with another win

Nov 12, 2006 - 3:24 PM New Orleans (4-2) at LA Clippers (4-1) 3:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) - The Los Angeles Clippers have been perfect so far on their five-game homestand, and hope to end it that way when they host the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday.

The Clippers are coming off an impressive 103-85 romp over the defending Western Conference champion Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.

Cuttino Mobley led the Clippers with 28 points while Sam Cassell chipped in with 21. Corey Maggette finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

The Hornets, losers of two straight, should be steaming mad after a 92-91 defeat at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.

The Hornets lead by as much as 27 points before the biggest collapse in franchise history.

Peja Stojakovic, who is averaging 15.3 points per game, led the Hornets with 21 points while Desmond Mason chipped in with 18 and David West added 17.

The Hornets have lost two straight after franchise-best four wins to open the season.
