Kings look to maintain home dominance of Raptors

Nov 12, 2006 - 4:55 PM Toronto (2-3) at Sacramento (3-2) 9:00 pm EST

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- On a team that features Mike Bibby and Ron Artest, Kevin Martin is quickly becoming a featured player for the Sacramento Kings.

Martin looks to continue his recent run of strong offensive performances Sunday when the Kings try to extend their home dominance of the Toronto Raptors.

After averaging just 2.9 points as a rookie and 10.8 last season, the 23-year-old Martin leads the team at 23.4 points per game and has a pair of 30-point outings.

Martin made 10-of-16 shots and scored 30 points, Mike Bibby added 23 and Kenny Thomas grabbed 15 rebounds to lead Sacramento in Wednesday's 99-86 victory over the Detroit Pistons.

Coming off last season's 27-win campaign, Toronto has alternated wins and losses in its five outings, including Friday's 111-102 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, which ended a four-game homestand.

Chris Bosh scored 19 points and grabbed 17 rebounds and T.J. Ford had 17 points with 11 assists for the Raptors, who were outrebounded, 49-40.

Sacramento has won the last eight home encounters against Toronto dating to March 13, 1997, and nine of 10 all-time meetings here.
