Knicks go for season sweep of Timberwolves

Mar 22, 2008 - 1:51 PM New York (19-49) at Minnesota (17-51) 8:00 pm EDT

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) - In what has become another lost season, the New York Knicks have a rare-opportunity to do something positive on Saturday.

New York hopes for its first season sweep of the Minnesota Timberwolves since the 2000-01 season when the teams clash at the Target Center.

The Knicks have lost 10 of their last 11 games, including a 120-106 setback to Memphis on Friday. The Grizzlies had lost 18 straight road games before breaking through against the woeful Knicks.

Jamal Crawford scored 22 points to lead New York, which gave Randolph Morris his first career start at center. Morris had just four points on 1-of-8 shooting with four rebounds in 24 minutes.

Despite owning one of the worst records in the league, the Timberwolves have won five of their past eight contests.

Minnesota is coming off a 124-113 loss at Indiana on Friday, which snapped its modest two-game winning streak.

Rashad McCants scored 22 points to lead seven players in double figures for the Timberwolves, who shot 56 percent (46-of-82) from the field in the loss.
