Pacers eye playoffs, visit Bulls

Mar 22, 2008 - 2:08 PM Indiana (28-41) at Chicago (27-41) 8:30 pm EDT

CHICAGO (Ticker) - After concluding a perfect homestand, the Indiana Pacers hope to take that success on the road.

The Pacers go for their fourth straight win on Saturday when they visit the Chicago Bulls.

Indiana concluded a three-game homestand with a 124-113 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. Troy Murphy scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the Pacers, who tied a season-high three-game win streak with the victory.

However, the Pacers (28-41) need to overcome a five-game road losing streak to keep their playoff hopes alive as the team currently sits 1 1/2 games behind the Atlanta Hawks (29-39) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Bulls need to turn around their recent dismal play if they plan on staying in postseason contention.

Chicago (27-41) is two games behind the Hawks but have lost five of its last seven games, including a 102-80 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday.
