Blazers continue playoff push against Sonics

Mar 24, 2008 - 1:28 PM Portland (37-33) at Seattle (16-54) 10:00 pm EDT

SEATTLE (Ticker) - Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge try to lead the Portland Blazers to their third straight victory Monday when they visit the Seattle SuperSonics.

The 23-year-old Roy and the 22-year-old Aldridge were instrumental in Portland's last two wins, both of which came against the lowly Los Angeles Clippers.

The duo combined for 44 points en route to a five-point victory on Friday before Roy scored 23 points and Aldridge added 21 and 10 rebounds during an 83-72 triumph on Saturday.

"I just got open and got good looks at the basket," Roy said. "We are trying to make a push and win games, so we can reach our goal of making the playoffs."

The Blazers (37-33) have slim playoff hopes, trailing the Golden State Warriors (42-26) by six games for the Western Conference's final playoff spot with 12 games remaining.

Portland will look to continue its winning ways against Seattle, which has lost 11 straight and 16 of its last 18 games.

The Blazers have won two of three meetings between the teams this season.
