Jazz aims to avoid season sweep by Bobcats

Mar 25, 2008 - 1:44 PM Charlotte (25-44) at Utah (46-25) 9:00 pm EDT

SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) - The Utah Jazz will look to continue their home-court dominance when the Charlotte Bobcats come calling on Tuesday.

Utah owns the best home record in the NBA at 30-4, highlighted by its 19-game winning streak that was snapped as the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers last Thursday.

In their last game here, Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur combined for 50 points and 23 rebounds to lift the Jazz to a 115-101 win over the Seattle SuperSonics on Saturday.

While Utah is almost unbeatable at home, Charlotte has lost five consecutive road games and owns one of the worst road marks at just 6-27.

The Bobcats are coming off their 94-82 triumph over the lowly Miami Heat, ending their five-game slide. Gerald Wallace had 26 points and three steals to lead the charge.

It was Wallace's first 20-point outing since returning from a Grade 3 concussion that forced him to miss eight games.

"I was happy to see our guys mentally stable, especially after five losses," Bobcats coach Sam Vincent said. "Gerald is really getting back into his form. He's not settling for the jump shot and he's attacking the rim."

In the first meeting, Wallace had 26 points and Jason Richardson added 24 and seven rebounds in Charlotte's 98-92 victory on December 19 at home.
