Hawks clinging to eighth in East

Mar 26, 2008 - 1:43 PM Milwaukee (24-45) at Atlanta (30-40) 7:00 pm EDT

ATLANTA (Ticker) - The Atlanta Hawks face the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, still clinging to eighth place in the Eastern Conference.

The Hawks, 5-5 in their last 10 games, are one-half game ahead of the New Jersey Nets for eighth place.

Atlanta is coming off a 103-94 loss at Chicago on Tuesday, a game in which the Hawks scored only 14 points in the third quarter.

Atlanta will play five of its next six games at home, where it has a 21-13 record. The Hawks have won three of their last four home games.

The Bucks have been struggling for months, posting a 9-25 record since January 10.

Milwaukee has lost seven of its last eight games, including a 78-73 loss at Miami on Monday, and is 6-28 on the road. Five of Miami's nine players that saw action played in the NBA D-League earlier this month.

"We just kind of went through the motions and thought it was going to be easier than it was," Bucks' coach Larry Krystkowiak said.

The game will be the last of the four-game season series between the teams. Milwaukee leads the series, 2-1, with the home team winning each game.
