Red-hot Sixers await Suns

Mar 28, 2008 - 10:33 AM Phoenix (47-24) at Philadelphia (37-35) 7:00 pm EDT

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- No team has been hotter in March than the Philadelphia 76ers.

The 76ers go for their fourth straight win Friday when they host the Phoenix Suns.

Philadelphia improved to 11-2 this month with a 121-99 drubbing against the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday. Andrew Iguodala provided the early spark, scoring 15 of his 21 points to lead the Sixers to a 34-19 advantage after the first quarter.

With the win, Philadelphia (37-35) clinched its first 11-win month since March 2003 and remained in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, one-half game behind the Washington Wizards (37-34) and one-half game ahead of the Toronto Raptors (36-35).

The Suns have suffered back-to-back losses in their last two games against the top teams in the East after winning each of their previous seven contests.

Phoenix endured a five-point overtime loss to the second-place Detroit Pistons on Monday and was beaten, 117-97, against the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Celtics on Wednesday.

Amare Stoudemire scored 32 points and Shaquille O'Neal added 16 and seven rebounds, but the low-post duo couldn't contain Celtics forward Kevin Garnett, who poured in 30 points on 12-of-19 shooting.
