Jazz try to continue home dominance

Mar 28, 2008 - 12:50 PM LA Clippers (21-50) at Utah (47-25) 9:00 pm EDT

SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) - The Utah Jazz have survived in a tough Western Conference this season on the strength of their play at home.

The Jazz try to improve the NBA's best home record when they host the lowly Los Angeles Clippers on Friday.

Utah improved to 31-4 at EnergySolutions Arena with a 128-106 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday.

Carlos Boozer had 28 points and 13 rebounds while Deron Williams added 14 and 15 assists to lead the Jazz to their second straight win and third in the last four games.

With the win, Utah maintained its hold on fourth place in the Western Conference thanks to its 3 1/2 game lead over the Denver Nuggets (43-28) atop the Northwest Division.

The Jazz trail the Houston Rockets (49-23) and Los Angeles Lakers (49-23) by two games for second place.

The Clippers endured their ninth consecutive loss on Wednesday, suffering a 97-88 setback against the San Antonio Spurs. Corey Maggette scored 22 points and rookie Al Thornton added 21 and nine rebounds as Los Angeles endured its 17th loss in the last 19 games.

Chris Kaman scored 16 points and pulled down five assists in his first game since March 8. The Clippers center missed the previous nine games with a back injury.
