Nuggets, Warriors fighting for playoff spot
Mar 29, 2008 - 12:56 PM Golden State (44-27) at Denver (44-28) 9:00 pm EDTDENVER (Ticker) - In a game likely to have a playoff feel to it, the Denver Nuggets host the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.
The Nuggets enter the contest one-half game behind the Warriors, who are holding down eighth place in the West.
Denver has been red-hot lately, registering its fourth consecutive win on Thursday with a 118-105 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, who are just one game clear of the Nuggets in the West.
Despite the winning streak, the Nuggets defense continues to be suspect as they surrendered 70 points against Dallas in the first half - a season-high for points in a half at the Pepsi Center.
Nonetheless, Carmelo Anthony had 32 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists as Denver outscored the Mavericks 58-35 in the second half.
